Danish sub owner charged in death of reporter

A Danish inventor and owner of a huge private submarine is accused of manslaughter after the disappearance of a female journalist who had been on board before it sank, police said Friday.

The submarine owner denies killing the Swedish woman, saying he last saw her when he dropped her off on the tip of an island near Copenhagen late on Thursday.

Police have not yet gained access to the sunken submarine, but have decided to charge the owner for the death of the missing Swedish woman, Copenhagen Police confirmed in a statement.

Danish authorities announced early Friday they were looking for the Nautilus sub, reported to have gone missing the night before in the Öresund strait between Denmark and Sweden.
