The Trophy Hunter/The Bedsit Murders

0
0

These crimes took place very close to where I lived back in 1987, I was around 9 years old at the time.

Some links:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/serial-killer-murdered-wendy-knell-905508

Some cliff-notes:

Victims were two young females who lived in Tunbridge Wells, they both worked on the same road (Camden Road) and were murdered 5 months apart from each other. Both lived on their own in bedsits/flats and were 'similar' in looks. They were also sexually assaulted, whether before or after the murder I cannot confirm.

The killer seemed to be a trophy collector, so took items such as keys etc. from his victims.

Police were able to come up with a DNA profile back in 2007 but after testing over 500 men it looks like the case has stalled. There has certainly been no updates online since 2012.

To date, no-one has been nailed for the crimes.

I'd forgotten all about this case until a watched a crimewatch reconstruction back in 2007. For some unknown reason, I had assumed they had caught someone shortly after the second murder. I put this confusion down to there being a rape in the town shortly after the second women went missing. Police actually arrested someone in connection BUT nothing came of it, I assume the guy was released without charge.

A few days before the murder of Knell, a man knocked on the door of a neighbour and warned her about leaving windows open? Why on earth would any sane person do that? Very weird, and police released a photo-fit of this man.

From what I can remember at the time, the town was plagued with reports of peeping toms and prowlers but am not sure if those reports were related to the murders.

There had been some speculation that Tobin or Bellfied was the murderer, but that had been dismissed by the police. At the time of the potential Tobin link, there was an article in the Daily Express which went further into the circumstances surrounding the 2nd woman's death. In that when she was dropped off at home by a taxi, neighbours heard screams but no-one came out to investigate. The taxi driver heard nothing as he pulled away. A few weeks later she was found in a ditch over Romney Marsh area.

Romney Marsh, and the location she was found is a pretty desolate area and tricky to navigate if you don't know the area - so the murderer had to have intimate knowledge of that area.

The crimes then stopped, but did they?

Here's an interesting thing I came across whilst reading up on other mysteries at that time. Near enough a year to the day Knell was murdered, a young girl in Brighton vanished (along with her car): Louise Kay. When reading up on this, the hot money seemed to be on a link with Peter Tobin. However, I'm starting to think otherwise, of course this is just amateur speculation on my part. The thing that gets me about the murders in Tunbridge Wells is that both were committed near enough in the last week of the month and close to the same days - just like the disappearance of Louise Kay. So, to summarise:

Knell: 23rd June 1987

Pierce: 24th November 1987

Kay: 24th June 1988

Geographically, Brighton is not that far from Tunbridge Wells. OK, it's just dates and idle speculation, but I'm not convinced that the murderer just 'stopped' murdering. Looking into the murders in TW, it's apparent that the murderer was/is quite a sadistic SOB - which is obvious for a murderer, but his modus operandi was brutal to say the least - blunt instrument and strangulation. OK, I'm overstating the obvious, but the guy obviously had a screw loose so am somewhat curious of how he could just explode with such brutality and then stop.

So where is he now? Dead? In prison? It's certainly a strange one, and at the time I remember the town being gripped with fear.

Joe Pichler

I watched a movie last night starring Joe Pichler (When good ghouls go bad) and when doing a search for it learned that Joe has been a missing person since January 2006. This is an odd case, some say he took his own life while others believe it was foul play. Though he wasn't a well known actor I'm surprised there wasn't more info on this.

Diana Vicari was last seen alive around midnight on October 23 1992 in Tuscon,Arizona. Her severed arms were found in a dumpster on oct 24 by a woman collecting aluminum cans. The arms were identified through fingerprints and a ring given to Vicari by her father. The rest of her body was never found and the case remained unsolved for years. Then in 1995 Lemuel Prion from Utah was charged and later sentenced to death in 1999,but in 2003 the conviction was overturned and the case remains cold to this day.Prions defence team theorized a man named John Mazure was responsible for the murder. Also Diana was having an afair with her drama teacher at Pima Community College. The teachers name is Robert Encila who had a fiance whos name has been withheld from the public.Dianas car was found abandoned near a house in escrow beloning to the fiances mother. This case may or may not be connected to the 1992/1992 Phoenix murders of Angela Brosso and Melanie Bernas.I decided to start this thread to gather new intell and help solve this 20 year old murder once and for all.Dianas sister Debbie Vicari worked hard for years trying to track down the killer, but passed away in 2009 from complications from surgery.I hope that we the public can come together and help solve this case. http://caselaw.findl...rt/1291382.html

THE mother of a Minnesota boy missing since 1989 has said his remains have been found, potentially providing answers to a mystery that has captivated people in the state and around the country for decades.

Patty Wetterling said in a text message to KARE-TV that 11-year-old Jacob Wetterling “has been found and our hearts are broken.” She did not immediately respond to calls and text messages from The Associated Press.

A law enforcement official told The Associated Press that a person of interest in Jacob’s abduction took authorities to a field in central Minnesota last week. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing case, said remains and other evidence were recovered.

FBI closes D.B. Cooper case after 45 years

It's one of the most notorious mysteries in the history of skyjacking. D.B. Cooper was last seen in November of 1971, wearing a business suit as he jumped out of the back of a plane carrying $200,000 in cash. He would have landed somewhere in the Northwest of the country, and the FBI has spent the past 45 years conducting one of their most thorough investigations to find out what happened to the skyjacker.

Christine Jurek case

Christine Jurek lived in Phoenix but her body was discovered by a fisherman west of the city in the Gila River on June 27 2010 at 12:45pm near the intersection of El Mirage Road and Indian Springs in Avondale, Arizona near the Phoenix International Raceway. This case has remained unsolved. Jurek's body was identified through fingerprints and a "sun-moon" tattoo on one of her feet. Her family is from Wisconsin and she had lived in Phoenix for 15 years working in the "adult entertainment" industry. None of Jurek's co-workers provided any useful information and police have said they suspect her death is an unsolved homicide.

10 Cold Cases Solved

Quote

Sometimes it’s forensic evidence and sometimes it’s merely re-examining clues, but cold cases do occasionally get solved. A witness or suspect may decide to talk, or people might be more forthcoming about details after time has passed. The good thing is that families can reach better closure about what has happened, even though this can mean re-living many painful details at a trial or hearing. Convictions can result, and prison sentences be given, and, as in the case of three cold cases included on this list, inmates already in prison can receive much longer sentences. Take a look at our list of 10 solved cold cases below. You’ll see how forensics techniques help to bring closure to many cases, but also how, occasionally, other things propel a case toward resolution.

Angela Brosso and Melanie Bernas

Hello my name is Lucas North and I am a self-proclaimed unnoficial private investigator. This is an attempt at re-posting a topic that was deleted due to myself and another user breaking the rule of the forum and using the last names of a suspect. It is my hope that the forum moderators will allow me to post this topic if I agree to withold the last names of the suspects in these murders that were unearthed last week. I have contacted Angela Brosso's former boyfriend and gave him the names and mugshots of Ronald M. and Chris B. of Sunnyslope in hopes that he will contact the lead detective in this case with that info and hopefully lead to an interview to uncover if these individuals were in fact the same "Ronnie and Chris" who were seen with Angela Brosso's missing purple Diamondback mountain bike in the days after her death.

I also want to apologize to the forum moderators for violating your rules. I have never read them and allowed my emotion to get the best of me in this case and my desire to see the killers caught made me act reckless. It will not happen again and I implore you to allow us to continue digging up dirt on this case as the old topic had an amazing 286 responses spanning 26 pages including shocking revelations from Brosso's boyfriend who postes as SandyBeaches, Voiceinthewind who revealed the warlocks theory and the startiling revelation that the were spotted with the purple bike, Steve Rino, a friend of Melanie Bernas who said she was hit by a sedan on 40th street and thrown in the trunk the night she went missing, as well as many other interesting people. It is my belief that the old deleted topic that lasted from my creation of it in October 2011 until its demise about a week ago was the biggest break in this case in years. It has introduced a whole new generation of people to this crime and has provided new hope that it can be one day solved. I'm hoping we can continue our work and it will lead to an arrest and closure for the family and friends of these girls.

Greenough Family Massacre -secret

The Greenough Family Massacre refers to the murders of Karen MacKenzie, 31 and her three children, Daniel 16, Amara 7 & Katrina 5 at their remote rural property in Greenough, Western Australia on February 21, 1993 [1] .

As mentioned on Crime Investigation Australia the exact way of how Daniel and Amara died were deemed to be kept secret and ruled that the details never ever be revealed to the public and to this day remain a secret.[2]

It took police 5 or more weeks to catch their murderer William Patrick Mitchell who was convicted of the murders in 1993 at the age of 24 and sentenced to life imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 20 years.

The above is from various sources- i'm just puzzled as i have never come across such an embargo in a crime case, i assume it is too disturbing and horrific- although Jack The Ripper's depravities were hardly kept from the public .

my theory about Tamam Shud case

0
0

Hi everyone. I came across this Taman Shud case last year and have been fascinated by Taman Shud case for a while. You can get the information about the case from Wikipedia. I post my theory here

1 The Somerton Man (SM) ,the nurse Jessica Thomson and Clive Mangonoson were working for an American spy network in 1940s. The SM  had stayed in US at some point during the War.

2 The director of this spy network had commanded SM and Clive passed the information to Jessica. The information contains two parts. The cipher "Taman Shud" and the one time pad the "Rubaiyat".

3 Clive had never worked with Jessica before so he wrote her phone number on the book Rubaiyat in order to contact her and arrange time with her to deliver the book.

4 SM and Clive did not know each other personally and were not aware of that they both involved in one mission.

5 SM might met Jessica though this spy network had an romantic relationship with her.

4 Things went wrong when SM tried to deliver the "Taman shud" information. The Russian spy caught him and murdered him but failed to find the information he hidden in his secret pocket sew in his pants.

5 Then Russian spy started to hunting Clive for the book when he was trying to deliver the book to Jessica. Clive realised that someone were after him so he dumped the Rubaiyat to get away from the Russians as well as protect the information.

6 The police released the information about "Taman shud" in newspaper, told the public that they found it in SM's pants so Russians knew that was the information they needed.

7 Clive read the newspaper and saw the photo about that pieces of paper with "Taman Shud" on, realised that tiny piece of paper from the book he supposed to deliver to Jessica. Then he worked out he himself and the SM were holding two pieces of the information jagsaw puzzle. He then told his wife he knew who the SM was.

8 The Russians found Clive and abducted his son and blackmail him for the book Rubaiyat. However Clive no longer has the book in his possession anymore. To save his son he gave the Russians a dodgy book.

9 The police then brought the information about the Rubaiyat to light. Russians read the newspaper and realised that Clive cond them so they murdered Clive.

So I stumbled upon this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JWpApQqRGA

I thought it was interesting and creepy how this person kept calling and had some involvement in the murder case. Its a shame that no evidence is present to reveal who was behind everything. I know its an old case now but it sucks the murderer manage to get away.

Idk guys have a watch and tell me what you think about this.

The Mystery of Lori Erica Ruff

0
0

Here's a new topic for anyone who wants a diversion from the Brown/Wilson conversation. (I noticed a comment or two from folks who said they were tired of it.)

This one's a real head-scratcher and might be fun to try to work through.

In 2003 in Texas, a woman purportedly named Lori Erica Kennedy married a fellow named Blake Kennedy. Lori was tall, dark-haired, attractive if somewhat reserved. Blake, a twin, was from a close knit Texas family. A friend described him as "not having much of an inner monologue," (or apparently an outer one, for that matter). He tended to follow rather than lead, to mimic what his twin brother did, to question few things. When his brother began attending church and Bible studies, Blake followed, and there he met Lori Kennedy.

They married, and Lori very much wanted to start a family, although that proved challenging. Some suspected Lori was actually older than the age she gave Blake and his family, perhaps accounting for the challenges in starting their family. But eventually a daughter was born of the union.

The marriage hadn't been smooth sailing, and the child's birth exacerbated the root of the problems. From the start, Lori was downright secretive with Blake's family about her past, saying only that her parents were deceased and that she had no siblings. For the most part, she made little effort to bond with Blake's family, something which distressed both her husband and in-laws. She was by all accounts rather cool and aloof even with her own husband, unable or unwilling to share much of herself. And when the baby was born, that unwillingness to share extended to the rest of the family. One account claims she wouldn't even let the baby's grandmother hold the baby while she, Lori, went to the rest room.

Investigators have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for the abduction of a 25-year-old woman last seen working a night shift at a Michigan gas station.Jessica Heeringa, the mother of a 3-year-old boy, disappeared around 11:15 p.m. April 26 from the Sternberg Rd. Exxon location in Norton Shores.

Since Heeringa went missing, authorities have collected hundreds of tips, established a $15,000 reward, released surveillance footage and distributed a suspect image.Shelly Heeringa, Jessica's mother, is hopeful that the artist rendering will bring her daughter back, she told WZZM."I actually think it's a pretty good sketch and that there's some features on it that maybe don't look exactly like him, but his features--and I'm hoping the features will stand out--like the hair, the close-set eyes," she said.

Francis Thompson was an extremist Catholic who apparently wasn't fond of prostitutes, a pyromaniac (apparently Mary Kelly's clothes were found burning in the fire at the crime scene according to a website that I've stupidly managed to lose), an ex-medical student (the women were cut up by someone who had good knowledge of cutting things up), a poet who wrote messed up poems about killing prostitutes by pretending he was performing abortions, if you read the poem he wrote it's almost a confession (also, the Jack The Ripper letters that the police got were well-written and had good hand-writing which must have meant that the guy was educated, right? And they were written in Red ink which would probably be more accessible to someone in the writing business in those days), he KNEW Mary Kelly (he lived at the same freakin' address) and Mary kelly was the odd one out of the victims, in age and the way she was cut up more, the psychological stuff matches him perfectly, apparently he kept a knife in his coat and there's a whole lot more detailed stuff to note.

The only problem is, according to the pictures of him I found, at the time of the murders he didn't really match the witness descriptions.

Oh and I think Mary Kelly is the key to solving the case, especially being the odd one out of the victims. I've got a few conspiracy ideas about her...
